It applies to individuals who are responsible for the management of sports turf facilities and who analyse information and exercise judgement to complete a range of advanced skilled activities and demonstrate deep knowledge in specific technical areas. They have accountability for the work of others and analyse, design and communicate solutions to a range of complex problems.

The Australian Sports Turf Managers Association (ASTMA) requires that students:
To receive this qualification, students must complete 14 Units of Competency. Elective units have been selected by the Australian Sports Turf Managers Association based in industry requirements and feedback.

This qualification is delivered virtually (online) over two years, to offer greater flexibility and accessibility for turf professionals.
Virtual (Online) tutorials will be conducted weekly, one unit at a time, covering curriculum criteria and assessment requirement. Assessments will be short answer written questions covering the knowledge evidence of the unit and portfolio of evidence consisting of work-based reports and student presentations for each unit. You will be provided with all resources on commencement of each unit.
